Job description
- Architectural Direction: Lead the transition from legacy logic to modern Java microservices. You define the standards for how these services interact, scale, and failover.
- Cloud-Native Infrastructure: Own the Kubernetes orchestration and AWS integration strategy. You aren't just deploying to a cluster: you are designing the cluster's architecture.
- CI/CD Strategy: Optimize enterprise-grade GitLab CI/CD pipelines. You will ensure that automated testing and deployment are seamless parts of the development lifecycle.
- Systems Translation: Work with SMEs to deconstruct legacy functional requirements and architect modern, modular services. You will oversee the big picture of the re-engineered ecosystem.
Requirements
Clearance: Active Top Secret (TS) required; must be willing to sit for a CI Polygraph, * 10+ years of professional Java engineering experience.
- Proven track record of leading major system rewrites or cloud-native migrations.
- Advanced understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, and AWS managed services.
- Advanced knowledge of the Spring ecosystem (Boot, Data, Security).
- Active Top Secret (TS) clearance.
About the company
We are re-engineering a core software baseline from the ground up. This isn't a migration of existing Java code; it is a full rewrite of legacy components into a modern, distributed architecture. The goal is a clean-room implementation designed to run natively on AWS using Kubernetes for orchestration. Due to the nature of the mission and the secure facility, this role is 100% on-site in Chantilly.
