We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to meaningful, mission-driven work for our customer.

The Systems Engineer is responsible for managing and supporting application infrastructure across multiple network environments. This role ensures systems meet security and compliance requirements while maintaining reliable, around-the-clock operational support. The Systems Engineer is accountable for implementing technical standards and providing 24/7 on-call support as required by contract.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools
  • Monitor system performance, identify issues or bottlenecks, and implement improvements to maintain system reliability
  • Maintain security controls, backup processes, and disaster recovery capabilities to protect systems and data
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline operations and increase efficiency
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving hardware, software, and network components
  • Collaborate with development teams, leadership, and other stakeholders to understand system needs and deliver solutions
  • Create and maintain documentation related to system configurations, procedures, and architecture
  • Evaluate new and emerging technologies to support system enhancements or future implementations

Requirements

  • At least two years of experience in a systems engineering or related role
  • Strong working knowledge of network infrastructure, server administration, and virtualization technologies
  • Experience using scripting or automation tools such as Python
  • Ability to analyze complex environments and assess technical tradeoffs
  • Proven problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Must be willing and able to work fully onsite at the location listed in this posting
  • Must be willing to provide 24/7 on call support
