Technical Architect - Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C

• We are seeking a highly experienced Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) B2C Technical Architect to lead the design, development, and strategic evolution of our eCommerce platform. In this senior leadership role, you will serve as the technical authority for all B2C Commerce implementations, guiding cross-functional teams, establishing best practices, and ensuring scalable, high-performing digital commerce solutions that delight customers and drive business growth.
• You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, product managers, UX designers, and engineering squads to translate complex business requirements into robust technical architectures all while maintaining alignment with Salesforce roadmap, platform capabilities, and enterprise architecture standards.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 10+ years of overall software development/architecture experience with at least 5 years dedicated to Salesforce Commerce Cloud B2C.
• Proven track record of architecting and delivering large-scale, high-traffic B2C eCommerce platforms.
• Experience leading technical teams of 5+ developers in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Technical Skills

• Deep expertise in SFCC architecture: SFRA (Storefront Reference Architecture), Site Genesis (legacy), Business Manager.
• Proficiency in SFCC scripting (server-side JavaScript / Demandware Script), controllers, pipelines, and forms framework.
• Strong command of SCAPI (Commerce API), OCAPI, and designing API-first commerce solutions.
• Experience with headless commerce implementations using PWA Kit, React Storefront, or similar frameworks.
• Solid front-end skills: JavaScript (ES6+), TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3, SCSS, and responsive design.
• Integration expertise: REST/SOAP APIs, MuleSoft, Boomi, or custom middleware; experience with Salesforce Platform (Sales/Service Cloud) a plus.
• Knowledge of search and merchandising tools: Salesforce Predictive Sort, Searchanise, Algolia, or Coveo.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure: AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform; CDN configuration (Akamai, Fastly, CloudFront).
• Experience with DevOps tools: Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, JIRA, Confluence.

Certifications (Preferred)

• Salesforce Certified B2C Commerce Developer
• Salesforce Certified B2C Commerce Architect
• Salesforce Certified Application Architect or System Architect (a strong plus), * Experience with Salesforce CDP, Marketing Cloud, or Service Cloud integrations in a commerce context.
• Knowledge of composable commerce patterns, MACH architecture (Microservices, API-first, Cloud-native, Headless).
• Familiarity with A/B testing platforms (Optimizely, Adobe Target) and personalization engines.
• Exposure to omnichannel commerce scenarios including BOPIS (Buy Online, Pick Up In Store), ship-from-store, and clienteling.
• Prior consulting or system integrator (SI) experience with enterprise retail or D2C clients.
• Strong understanding of SEO best practices for eCommerce platforms.
