Bowhead seeks a Ordnance Tracking Information System (OIS) Database Administrator (DBA) Primary/Supply (OIS DBA) at the Strategic Weapons Facility Pacific (SWFPAC) and Marine Corps Security Force Battalion (MCSFBn) logistics department at Naval Base Kitsap, Bangor WA. The OIS DBA sits at the intersection of IT data administration and military ordnance logistics, ensuring real-time asset visibility, strict regulatory alignment, and seamless inventory synchronization with the Department of the Navy's central ordnance databases.
Responsibilities
Essential functions will include:

Manage the data integrity, tracking, and compliance of Navy ammunition, explosives, and strategic missile components.

Administers, monitors, and optimizes the local OIS instance to support continuous data storage, extraction, and reporting of strategic assets.

Verifies accuracy of database logs for the receipt, transfer, issue, and expenditures of all ammunition and explosives (A&E) across SWFPAC inventory.

Ensures all mandatory up-line data reporting and transactions are flawlessly executed within OIS timelines to maintain the Navy's master inventory record

Manages user permissions, registers accounts, and monitors user logs to safeguard classified and sensitive logistical information

Conducts data validation and builds custom ledger queries to ensure flawless compliance for explosive safety inspections and physical inventory audits.

Coordinates directly with the SWFPAC Logistics and Material Departments to reconcile database discrepancies against physical stock counts.

Identifies database errors, submits Trouble Reports (TR), coordinates system updates, and manages localized database backup/recovery protocols

Maintians close coordination with industrial personnel working on outdoor shipping docks, storage magazines, and sensitive weapons facilities

Other duties as assigned, Where driving may be required or where a rental car must be obtained for business travel purposes, applicants must have a valid driver license for this position and will be subject to verification. Requirements

Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (GED).Associate's degree preferred combined with equivalent military logistics/IT experience, combined with four (4+) years of intensive technical experience as a Navy Aviation Ordnance man (AO), Gunner's Mate (GM), or LogisticsSpecialist (LS) managing ordnance data networks.

Three to five or more (3-5+) years of database management, data administration, or specialized military logistics database tracking
-
Minimum of two (2) years of direct experience working with Navy Ordnance Information Systems (OIS-R / OIS-W), Retail Ordnance Logistics Management System (ROLMS), or equivalent DoD ammunition tracking platforms.

Must satisfy DoD 8140 / 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II requirements.

Completion of designated Navy OIS-R/W administrator training modules and a formal authorization letter from the local command.

Enrollment in the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP), which requires high standards of mental and physical stability, ethical conduct, and emotional maturity.

Appointment is subject to a satisfactory medical and psychological evaluation by a Competent Medical Authority (CMA) to confirm fitness for duty
-
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and will be subject to random, unannounced urinalysis drug testing

Practical experience with relational database structures, SQL query formulation, and data validation techniques

Proven experience executing transactional ledger reconciliations under NAVSUP P-724 regulations and managing Up-Line Reporting (ULR) requirements

Have written and oral communications abilities commensurate with this management role.

Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.

Ability to understand, speak, read, and write the English language.

Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees, Government Representative, and outside contacts.

Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team.
Target salary is $95K-$125K commensurate with experience
