(Senior) Software Systems Engineer Network Detection and Response (NDR)
As a Software Systems Engineer in the NDR team, you will build and operate services that detect, analyze, and help contain threats across customer networks worldwide. NDR is a core part of Open Systems' managed SASE platform, and your work will directly improve our customers' security posture.
This is a builder-operator role: you will contribute across the full lifecycle, from concept and implementation to deployment, operations, and continuous optimization.
You will work on capabilities such as:
- IDS/IPS integration and tuning
- Network anomaly and behavioral detection
- Threat correlation and signal quality improvements
- Automation of response and remediation workflows
- Observability, monitoring, and reliability of NDR services

Requirements
- Higher education (ETH, university, FH) in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- 2+ years of professional experience in a related engineering role
- Practical experience with NDR tooling and IDS/IPS technologies (for example Suricata, Zeek, Snort)
- Experience with Linux or another UNIX-based operating system
- Strong software engineering skills with scripting languages (for example Bash, Python, Perl) and compiled languages (for example Go, Rust, C++, C#)
- Familiarity with software and system testing practices
- Proficiency in English
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of network security concepts and operational practices
- Experience with cloud-native and container platforms (for example Kubernetes)
- Experience with telemetry pipelines, detection engineering, or security data analysis
- Familiarity with CI/CD and modern agile development workflows
