Job description
The IT Support Engineer provides hands-on IT service and operational execution for the Darmstadt office. The role ensures reliable end-user support, stable workplace IT, and smooth daily IT operations for local users and laboratories. Acting as the primary onsite IT contact, the role helps users across multiple support levels and maintains local infrastructure and assets. The position focuses on operational delivery and implementation of defined IT standards and processes. Your Responsibilities:
- Provide onsite IT support across 1st, and 2nd level support, including ticket handling and escalation
- Support end users with hardware, software, workplace setup, and general IT questions
- Manage the lifecycle of end-user devices (laptops, desktops, mobile devices), including setup, maintenance, and replacement
- Maintain and support local IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, server rooms, and ISP connections
- Assits user onboarding and manage user accounts
- Provide hands-on IT support for laboratory environments and related systems
- Support and maintain local applications and services
- Keep IT asset inventory up to date and perform regular checks
- Support documentation, testing, training, and bug tracking activities in ServiceNow and related IT tools
- Assist with vulnerability management, global user support, and recurring operational IT tasks
Requirements
Do you have experience in ServiceNow?, * Degree in IT field or an equivalent qualification
- First hands-on experience in IT support or a similar role
- Solid understanding of IT infrastructure and service management processes
- Strong service mindset with a passion for delivering an excellent user experience
- Proactive, results-driven approach and the ability to work independently
- Team spirit combined with strong communication skills
- A structured, organized way of working with a focus on efficiency
- Fluency in both English and German (written and spoken)
- Availability to work on-site and provide hands-on support
