Join GDIT as a Systems Administrator and build an impactful career in enterprise IT, collaborating with people who are driven and resourceful like you., GDIT has an exciting opportunity for a System Administrator (SA) to support U.S. Army Europe and Africa in Wiesbaden, Germany ensuring the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of information and resources to support the warfighter. The SA designs, develops, installs, manages, maintains, and monitors intelligence systems and infrastructure to ensure the highest levels of systems performance, security, and availability. The SA authors and updates documentation, diagrams, and SOPs on new and existing intel systems. The SA stays current on operating systems, intel software, hardware, and technological developments to recommend improvements to enhance mission and operational effectiveness. Provides expertise and recommendations in the development or modification of software programs, applications, operating systems, and hardware to enhance intel systems. Maintains baseline configurations and performs modifications to intel systems when approved. Provides technical support and troubleshooting to network, desktop, servers, operating systems, and software to rapidly restore services.
MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT As a Systems Administrator, the work you'll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of U.S. Army Europe and AFRICOM. You will play a crucial role in mission command support.
- Design, development, installation configuration, and deployment of intel systems, infrastructure, and storage platforms
- Enter support requests and track issues in the designated issue management system and triage requests
- Experience with Virtualization, Windows, Storage, Linux, SQL, and Active Directory.
- Develops and maintains technical documentation, system architecture, SOPs, diagrams, and system design documentation
- Assist with maintaining all related information security documentation and artifacts to meet continuous monitoring and compliance criteria.
- Performs system maintenance and administrative functions to lifecycle hardware, upgrade operating systems and software, patch systems, maintains RMF compliance and optimal systems performance.
- Provide support to end users on a variety of issues including office automation software, scanning, printing, file recovery, user account management, and password resets.
- Perform cable management to add, move, repair, and/or install equipment at user workstations and within data centers.
- Provide management of Active Directory Organizational Unit's to ensure compliance with organization policy.
- Install, Image, and Configure desktop workstations.
- Perform Active Directory (AD) administration and user access control.
- Analyzes complex system issues and takes actions to rapidly resolve problems
- Provide on-site diagnostic and corrective actions at local and remote sites
- Configure, maintain, patch, and harden Windows and Linux operating systems
- Occasional after hours on-call support and up to 25% travel
- Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical issues and propose courses of action to leadership
- Experience identifying, analyzing, and resolving system problems.
Requirements
- Education: BS/BA in information technology or related industry training in performing systems administration support is preferred.
- Experience: 5+ years of related experience
- Technical skills: A current IAT II Certification is required at time of hire. Candidates should have at least one major industry certification (MCSA, CCNA, etc.)
- Security clearance level: Top Secret Clearance
- US citizenship required
- Role requirements: Relevant and related military or government experience performing systems administration support for intelligence or mission command systems; Valid state driver's license. This position requires travel to customer sites for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The selected candidate will be expected to operate a government vehicle, rental vehicle, or POV to perform these duties.
- Must Qualify to obtain German TESA: TESA requires one of the following education and experience combinations:
- Bachelor's Degree + 3 years of recent specialized experience
- Associate's Degree + 7 years of recent specialized experience
- Major Industry Certification + 7 years of recent specialized experience

This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range. Total compensation for international positions varies by tax, social security, and immigration statuses, as well as location. Generally, an international assignment may include allowances, premium uplifts, and/or relocation or transportation benefits, above base salary range noted.
