Hiring: Data Scientist (Credit Risk) | £490/day | Remote (UK)
I'm currently working with a client looking for a hands-on Data Scientist to join their team on a credit risk & customer analytics project.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys practical, business-facing data science - working with real data, improving models, and influencing decision-making. What you'll be doing
- Building and improving predictive models (starting with logistic regression, progressing to more advanced methods)
- Working with large customer datasets to support credit risk and onboarding decisions
- Running data QA checks and validating datasets
- Analysing model performance and turning outputs into clear business insights
- Supporting initiatives across fraud, identity risk, and investigations
Tech/Tools
- Python (increasingly), R
- Azure/Databricks
- Large-scale data environments
Ideal background
- Experience in Data Science/Machine Learning roles
- Strong understanding of statistical modelling & predictive analytics
- Experience working with customer data and large datasets
- Confident communicating insights to non-technical stakeholders
- (Desirable) experience in credit risk, fraud, or financial services
Details
- £490/day (Inside IR35)
- Primarily remote (occasional Cardiff visits ~1x/month)
- Fast interview process - looking to move quickly
- 12 month contract
