Business Unit Responsible for the growth of our world leading wafer handling and process systems, the Platform Engineering Group are seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our team based in Newport, Wales. ***KLA is proud to be an inclusive and diverse employer. To enhance our diverse workforce and business growth we offer a flexible working culture, please let us know how we can support your needs - full time, part time, job share, flexible hours, support with your application/interview process ***, Working with the Software Manager, this important role within the team will utilise your knowledge and experience in Object-Orientated Design and Object-Orientated Programming to develop, test, release and maintain new and legacy software. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Developing industrial control software using OOD/OOP under Microsoft Windows
- Writing, testing, and deploying high-quality code
- Documenting work, to include software design specifications, test plans and release notes
- Testing software on suitable hardware within a multi-disciplinary team
- Ensuring all software meets required standards of safety, quality, performance, and security
Requirements
- An experienced Senior Software Engineer, ideally gained in a technical industry
- With proven experience and/or degree qualified in Software Engineering, Computer Science
- Be up to date with software development methods and technologies
- Experienced in software development with the use of OOD/OOP (JAVA, C++, C#, etc)
- Previous experience of working in multi-disciplined project team(s)
- An appreciation of the full software development life cycle
- Experience of data analytics and/or AI in a machine controls environment is desirable
