Job description

My client is looking for an Infrastructure Engineer who is exceptional in liaising with 3rd parties and other IT Teams to understand the impact of a potential change on the current systems and processes.

What will you be doing?

Working on a specific project that involves integration of 3rd party platforms with an in-house platform.

Designing the technical solution and cybersecurity controls, document the specifications, plan and configure technology changes, functional test, volume test, failover test, cybersecurity test, pilot, production go-live and produce support documentation and handover to service desk a third-party solution

  • To participate in design workshops with the solution provider to ensure the technical and cybersecurity solution leverages existing systems and can deliver the business requirements
  • Document the solution specification for all aspects of the technology (business systems access, firewall, desktop, voice solution) including high availability, failover and failback.
  • Document the Service Level Agreement including a comprehensive set of service KPIs (availability, response times, quality of service) and failover (failover target, failover service KPIs, failback)
  • Configure the technology, including business systems, firewall, network, desktop and voice solution and smoke test
  • Plan and execute the System Integration Test, volume test, failover test, cybersecurity test, document results and action any remediation or design changes for the solution and get sign-off
  • Work with the Programme Manager and Users to document and support a User Acceptance Test and remediate any required changes or defects
  • Work with the Security & Compliance Manager to review and penetration test the cybersecurity of the delivered solution and address and resolve
  • Work with the Programme Manager to plan and support the pilot live and full go-live activities, and take ownership and ensure resolution of technical
  • Perform knowledge transfer to infrastructure and service desk teams, handover of documentation and support them during BAU

Requirements

  • Are you an Infrastructure Engineer with experience in the end-to-end project delivery cycle?
  • Do you have strong experience with integration projects (apps / connectivity / firewalls / networks)
  • Do you thrive on understanding the technical impact of projects?
  • Are you hands-on in all areas including testing?, 5 years' experience in a project-based Infrastructure Engineer role is a must.

*Extensive experience in the design, installation and maintenance of office networks, firewalls and access to business systems

*Advanced technical experience of building and supporting a Microsoft-based workplace including Windows Active Directory, Windows Servers and services and Office 365

*In-depth experience of designing and configuring firewall policies and support

*Advanced knowledge of common networking principles, services, protocols and hardware including routers, switches and access points

*A strong understanding of IT security, current threat landscapes and best practice

*Exposure to cloud hosted services, in particular web services supporting e-commerce platforms

*Knowledge of common connectivity solutions, IP Telephony and MDM applications
