You will work closely with architecture, security, networking, and platform teams to design, build, and improve cloud environments, supporting initiatives such as migrations, landing zones, connectivity, automation, security hardening, and operational improvements. Successful candidates will be hands on, delivery focused, and comfortable working in fast paced, governed environments. The roles will suit engineers who can combine strong cloud fundamentals with automation and reliability practices, helping teams deploy securely, scale efficiently, and operate with confidence., We are hiring a Senior Cloud DevOps Engineer to design, build, and run secure, scalable cloud infrastructure for high performance products in FinTech, trading technology, asset management, or regulated SaaS. You will lead DevOps initiatives, improve developer experience, and embed automation, reliability, and security across the delivery lifecycle. The environment is modern, governance aware, and outcome driven, with a strong focus on CI CD, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, observability, and cost control.
What you will be doing
- Architect and implement cloud infrastructure across GCP and AWS, with some environments also using Azure or hybrid patterns
- Build, optimise, and operate Kubernetes platforms, including GKE and EKS, with strong focus on performance, scaling, and availability
- Design and maintain CI CD pipelines using cloud native tooling and common platforms such as GitHub Actions, Cloud Build, ArgoCD, or similar
- Drive GitOps ways of working for infrastructure and application deployments
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and operational tasks using Terraform and scripting in Python and shell
- Improve observability using cloud operations tooling and integrations such as Prometheus and Grafana, plus logging, tracing, and alerting standards
- Embed security by design through IAM and role modelling, secrets management, key management, vulnerability scanning, and policy controls
- Deliver resilience improvements including backups, rollback patterns, disaster recovery, and incident readiness
- Lead cost optimisation across cloud workloads through rightsizing, monitoring, and usage controls
- Provide technical leadership through mentoring, standards, reviews, and platform roadmaps
Database and migration focus where required
- Lead or support database migration programmes into cloud environments
- Deliver high availability database patterns and operational controls, including backup and recovery strategies
- Experience migrating MySQL to Aurora is highly valuable in AWS estates
- Familiarity with migration tooling such as DMS and related approaches is beneficial
