Job description

Team - Finance Working Pattern - Hybrid - 2 days per week in the Vitality Bournemouth Office. Full time, 35 hours per week. We are happy to discuss flexible working! Top 3 skills needed for this role

What this role is all about

The Finance Systems & AI Enablement Specialist operates at the intersection of finance systems delivery, data, and AI-driven transformation. The role ensures that core finance platforms are robust, well governed, and continuously improved, while identifying, shaping, and embedding AI-enabled solutions that improve efficiency, insight, and decision-making across Finance and the wider organisation. Working closely with Finance, Technology, and business stakeholders, the role translates operational needs into scalable system enhancements and AI use cases, supporting delivery from ideation and requirements through adoption and optimisation.

Key Actions

  • Act as the subject matter expert for assigned finance systems, ensuring stability, supportability, and a clear improvement roadmap.
  • Gather and translate business, operational, and regulatory requirements into prioritised, governed system change.
  • Coordinate and assure delivery of finance system enhancements through design, testing, release, and post-implementation review.
  • Identify and prioritise AI and automation opportunities that improve finance processes, controls, reporting, and decision-making.
  • Define, enable, and oversee the lifecycle of AI solutions and agents to ensure they are secure, scalable, supportable, and adopted.
  • Maintain governance artefacts, audit-ready evidence, and proportionate testing and assurance for system and AI-enabled changes.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data quality, reporting, and benefits realisation through collaboration across Finance, Technology, AI Enablement, and suppliers.

Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience supporting or delivering AI, automation, analytics, or data-led improvement initiatives.
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating business needs into well-governed system or data change.
  • Experience with testing, UAT, assurance documentation, audit evidence, and change governance.
  • Degree level or equivalent experience, with specialist knowledge gained through significant relevant work experience.
  • Professional qualification in finance, systems, data, project delivery, or change management an advantage.
  • Experience with finance data platforms, reporting tools, or cloud-based finance technologies an advantage.
