What you'll do:
As a Data Analytics Audit Manager at MUFG, you will be entrusted with end-to-end delivery of data analytics engagements aligned with rigorous methodology and quality assurance standards.
- Collaborate with business audit teams to understand relevant processes, risks, and controls in order to develop effective analytics testing strategies that support internal audit conclusions.
- Design, implement, and execute comprehensive analytics plans independently to assess key controls, validate issues, and facilitate continuous monitoring across multiple audits.
- Manage the collection, transformation, and analysis of large datasets while ensuring data quality, integrity, security, and strong governance throughout all stages of the audit lifecycle.
- Document analytics work accurately and timely according to established methodology and quality assurance standards so that results are clear for business audiences.
- Act as a relationship manager for a portfolio of audits by coordinating with audit teams and stakeholders to translate complex findings into actionable insights.
- Drive the integration of automation and artificial intelligence into audit processes by introducing innovative techniques such as generative AI, machine learning, process mining, and self-serve analytics tools.
- Support migration efforts towards cloud platforms by promoting adoption of new technologies among auditors including Data Analytics Champions.
- Set clear expectations for junior colleagues while upholding high standards; provide guidance and feedback to encourage improvement and celebrate achievements within the team.
- Mentor junior team members by contributing to their development through coaching sessions and supporting strategic initiatives aimed at continuous improvement of the DA function.
- Engage in broader MUFG initiatives that promote equity, inclusion, belonging; participate actively in team activities that foster trust-building communication and flexible hybrid work.
Requirements
To excel as a Data Analytics Audit Manager at MUFG you will bring substantial hands-on experience leading complex analytics projects within Financial Services or Internal Audit environments. Experience in data analytics within Financial Services or Internal Audit/Risk/Control functions demonstrating proven ability to lead complex analytics testing across the full audit lifecycle from scoping through execution to results communication.

Working proficiency with Python or similar programming languages for advanced data analysis coupled with extensive experience using data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

Strong project management skills enabling you to manage multiple priorities simultaneously while delivering high-quality outputs aligned with KPIs and QA standards.

Experience managing analysts or peers including full project ownership supporting audit testing plus technical leadership reviewing junior colleagues' work enhancing overall team capability.

Solid understanding of risk/control environments combined with ability to assess risks execute effective control testing strategies develop observations supporting audit conclusions.

Excellent communication skills allowing you to explain complex data concepts clearly both technically/non-technically building trust among stakeholders/audit leads/directors.

Degree in Data Science Computer Science Artificial Intelligence Machine Learning Mathematics or equivalent plus relevant work experience OR degree in Accounting Finance Business Administration Risk Management with demonstrable data analytics experience.

Preferred: Experience developing advanced analytics solutions/workflows (e.g., Alteryx AI/ML/LLM-based tools) drafting requirements partnering with Technology teams developing/testing solutions.

Familiarity with cloud platforms/tools (AWS Azure GCP Snowflake Copilot Studio/equivalent AI tools) plus knowledge of automation/low-code platforms (Power Platform Automate Power Apps).

Experience contributing to analytics frameworks/best practices (UAT development lifecycle) familiarity with delivery/collaboration tools (JIRA Confluence) plus relevant certifications (Google Data Analytics Professional Certificate IBM Data Analyst Professional Certificate Microsoft Certified Azure Data Scientist Associate AWS Certified Data Analytics Tableau Desktop Specialist Microsoft Certified Power BI Data Analyst Associate CIA CPA CFSA).
