This role will be supporting the Office of the Under Secretary of War for Acquisition & Sustainment (OUSW(A&S)) in the execution of a next-generation acquisition digital platform pilot focused on modernizing acquisition decision-making through data-centric, AI-ready capabilities. The effort supports the Department of War's broader Acquisition Transformation Strategy and is intended to accelerate the integration of modern commercial technologies into the acquisition ecosystem.

The pilot will focus on aggregating, modeling, integrating, and analyzing acquisition lifecycle data across multiple domains, including industrial base, logistics & sustainment, programs & portfolios, and supply chain operations, to provide actionable insights and decision advantage for tactical and strategic stakeholders. The initial MVP/prototype is expected to serve as the foundation for additional enterprise Snowflake pilots and broader Department-wide digital transformation initiatives., Ignite Digital is seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Engineer with strong Python, SQL, and enterprise data engineering experience to help architect, build, and scale modern data pipelines, data models, analytics workflows, and AI-ready data environments supporting this high-visibility initiative.

Requirements

Do you have experience in Systems integration?, * Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or related technical discipline.

  • 6+ years of experience designing, engineering, and implementing enterprise data solutions.
  • Experience analyzing mission or business use cases and translating high-level requirements into detailed technical and functional data requirements.
  • Deep understanding of designing and implementing scalable data architectures, data models, data standards, transformation logic, and integrated enterprise data solutions.
  • Experience aggregating and integrating data from disparate enterprise systems using APIs, ETL/ELT pipelines, and automated workflows.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data engineering, automation, analytics, and API integration development.
  • Experience supporting enterprise data governance, metadata management, lineage tracking, and AI-ready data structures.
  • Skilled in designing data visualizations tailored to technical, operational, and executive-level audiences.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional technical and functional teams in Agile or iterative delivery environments.
  • Experience supporting product delivery timelines, sprint planning, milestone tracking, and risk identification/mitigation activities.
  • Experience supporting AI/ML-enabled analytics environments and familiarity with predictive analytics and machine learning workflows.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to obtain a DOD Secret clearance, * Experience supporting Department of War, Department of Navy, OUSW(A&S), acquisition, logistics, or sustainment organizations.
  • Experience with Snowflake, Databricks, or other data AI / analytic platforms.
  • Experience working in IL5 or regulated government cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting Authority to Operate (ATO) processes, security documentation, or secure platform deployments.
  • Active DOD Secret clearance
