Job description
DUTIES: Responsible for the development of high performance, distributed computing tasks using Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, NoSQL, text mining and other distributed environment technologies related to Network Engineering and Operations domains and functions. Utilize JVM-based function languages including Scala and Clojure; Hadoop query languages including Pig, Hive, Scalding, Cascalog, PyCascading; and alternative HDFS-based computing frameworks including Spark and STORM. Utilize Big Data programming languages and technology, write code, complete programming, and documentation, and perform testing and debugging of applications. Analyze, design, program, debug and modify software enhancements and/or new products used in distributed, large-scale analytics and visualization solutions. Interact with data scientists and industry experts to understand how data needs to be converted, loaded, and presented. Work in a highly agile environment. Utilize Python, PySpark, SQL, Java, MongoDB

and SOLR. Work in Databricks and MS Azure cloud architecture. Utilize detailed understanding of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model in operation with specific knowledge of physical, datalink, and network layers. Develop datasets and coded deliverables based on network engineering and alarming aspects of these networks within a top tier Internet Service Provider (ISP). Apply detailed knowledge of networking and telecommunications engineering and operations processes for wireline and mobility networking.
REQUIREMENTS: Requires a Master's degree, or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Math, Electronic Engineering or Scientific Computing and 3 years of experience in the job offered or 3 years of experience in a related occupation developing high performance and distributed computing tasks using Big Data technologies such as Hadoop, NoSQL, and text mining; using JVM-based function languages including Scala and Clojure; Hadoop query languages including Pig, Hive, Scalding, Cascalog, and PyCascading; utilizing alternative HDFS-based computing frameworks including Spark and STORM; interacting with data scientists and industry experts to understand how data needs to be converted, loaded and presented; utilizing Python, PySpark, SQL, Java, MongoDB, and SOLR; working in Databricks and MS Azure cloud architecture; network-related experience utilizing detailed understanding of the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) model in operation with specific knowledge of physical, datalink, and network layers; developing datasets and coded deliverables based on network engineering and alarming aspects of these networks within a top tier Internet Service Provider (ISP); applying detailed knowledge of networking and telecommunications engineering and operations processes for wireline and mobility networking.
