Job description
Northern Technologies Group (NTG) is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to support mission-critical operations for U.S. Central Command (USCENTCOM) at MacDill Air Force Base.
This role is responsible for maintaining, securing, and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure in a high-availability, classified environment. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with Windows Server environments, system maintenance, and DoD security compliance., * Administer and maintain Windows Server 2019/2022 environments
- Perform system patching, upgrades, and vulnerability remediation
- Monitor and manage server performance, availability, and system health
- Ensure compliance with DoD security standards, STIGs, and policies
- Support infrastructure deployments, system builds, and configuration management
- Troubleshoot and resolve system-level issues across enterprise environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, engineers, and mission stakeholders
- Maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and system procedures
- Escalate and track issues to resolution in accordance with operational priorities
- Support continuous improvement of system performance and security posture
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- DoD 8570/8140 compliant certification (e.g., Security+)
- 3+ years of systems administration experience in enterprise environments
- Hands-on experience with Windows Server administration
- Experience with patching, system upgrades, and maintenance processes
- Understanding of DoD security requirements (STIGs, RMF, etc.)
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, * Experience supporting USCENTCOM or similar DoD combatant commands
- Familiarity with virtualization technologies (VMware/vSphere)
- Experience with certificate lifecycle management (PKI)
- Knowledge of scripting/automation (e.g., PowerShell)
- Experience working in multi-domain or classified environments (NIPR/SIPR)
