Job description

We are seeking an Engineer/Application Programmer III to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in Linux engineering, scripting, automation, and infrastructure operations and a proven ability to design, implement, and support secure, reliable Linux environments with effective monitoring and automation. Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain servers in Linux environments.
  • Develop and implement backup and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Monitor Linux server health through automated and manual processes.
  • Design, develop, and implement monitoring and reporting tools using scripts such as Bash and PowerShell.
  • Perform server hardware maintenance and upgrades.
  • Create test automation frameworks in collaboration with team members and partner teams.
  • Develop tools to increase functionality and efficiency of infrastructure.
  • Maintain software repositories and apply software updates.
  • Maintain documentation for procedures, configurations, and programs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of experience with Linux operating systems, including virtualized environments.

  • Strong scripting skills in Python, Ruby, Perl, or a related language.

  • Experience with Ping, SSO, and certificate management.

  • Knowledge of automation technologies and Linux scripting languages.

  • Experience installing, configuring, and maintaining services such as BIND, Apache, MySQL, and Nginx.

  • Understanding of configuration management tools such as Puppet and Chef.

  • Experience with application support, web technologies, APIs, and microservices.

  • Knowledge of databases such as MS SQL, Oracle, or DB2.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and documentation skills with effective communication.

  • Self-motivated with a focus on automation and continuous learning. Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud computing.

  • Experience with open-source application suites such as WordPress or Drupal.

  • Master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Role Logistics & Process Details:

  • Work arrangement: Hybrid with a minimum of 3 days onsite each week. Onsite day 1 required.
