Job description
An Information Security Engineer II is responsible for strengthening and safeguarding the organization's mainframe environment by developing and enforcing security controls, policies, and procedures. This role leads the implementation of security standards, evaluates and integrates new security tools, and serves as the primary contact for internal and external stakeholders on mainframe security issues. It includes conducting followups on audit findings, administering RACF access controls, analyzing JCL job flows, troubleshooting system activity, and ensuring secure file transmission. The engineer collaborates with crossfunctional teams to maintain the integrity of the z/OS environment, monitors user activity for compliance, and supports broader security initiatives across the enterprise.
This position may be worked remotely within the United States, with the exception of California.

The salary range for this position is $64,450- $100,000 and will be determined based on location and experience level.

What you'll be responsible for:

Develops the security of electronic information and establishes security systems, policies and procedures to prevent system compromise or infiltration.

Develops and implements standards for appropriate security checkpoints and encryption methods.

Investigates, recommends and monitors implementation of new security products and services. Acts as a central point of contact for internal and external customers on security issues.

Follows up on security findings from security-related reviews and other third-party reviews.

Using access control facilities and Job Control Language (JCL) to: Develop reports. Research and analyze job flow. Troubleshoot.

Investigating, recommending, and monitoring file transmission.

Participating in project meetings and work with other JH departments to ensure security of the mainframe environment and scheduler.

Monitoring and evaluating internal and external mainframe users.

Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with z/OS mainframe.
- Must have 3 years experience with Mainframe Access Control (RACF=Remote Access Control Facility) administration.
What would be nice for you to have:
