Network Security Policy Engineer

This role is built for someone who can balance policy ownership with deep firewall engineering. You'll govern how the enterprise connects, who connects, and under what controls - while being the go-to authority on firewall rule bases and network security standards.

What You'll Do

• Serve as the approver and consultant for internal and external network connection requests.
• Define, maintain, and enforce policies covering external connectivity and network control points.
• Review exception requests and sign off on deviations from established security standards.
• Provide stewardship over the Enterprise Firewall Port Opening Request (POR) workflow.
• Maintain working relationships with network connection owners to keep risks visible and mitigated.

• Strong hands-on experience with Fortinet firewalls.
• Proven background managing network security policies and firewall rule bases.
• AlgoSec working experience.
• Cisco ISE experience.

Technical Background Expected

• Working knowledge of Fortinet and Cisco firewall platforms plus IPSec VPN.
• Strong grasp of TCP/IP fundamentals and broader network security concepts.
• Familiarity across firewall tech, network authentication, encryption standards, VPN, intrusion detection, and perimeter defense.

Bonus Points For

• Network automation chops - Ansible, Python, REST APIs, or similar.
