As a Network Architect on the CBOSS 2.0 program, you will serve as the principal technical authority for enterprise network design and modernization, shaping the architecture of DOE networks that underpin operations across the DOE complex. You will lead transformation initiatives, drive compliance with federal cybersecurity frameworks, and collaborate directly with DOE leadership and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure the network enterprise remains secure, scalable, and aligned with evolving mission requirements., Strategic Architecture & Technical Leadership Serve as the principal authority on enterprise network architecture for DOE networks, providing authoritative technical guidance on all design, modernization, and integration efforts across the Task Order
- Define and maintain the architectural vision, strategy, and roadmap for DOE network infrastructure, ensuring alignment with DOE mission objectives, cybersecurity requirements, and long-term operational sustainability
- Direct and control architectural activities with overall responsibility for design methodology, ensuring advanced network engineering solutions meet stringent DOE technical and security requirements
Network Design & Engineering
- Architect and engineer enterprise network solutions encompassing LAN/WAN topologies, data center interconnects, and network segmentation across DOE environments
- Apply Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles, incorporating least-privilege access and continuous verification into network design
- Plan, evaluate, and optimize network topologies, traffic flows, and capacity requirements to ensure performance, availability, and scalability of mission-critical DOE systems
Transformation, Integration & Governance
- Lead network transformation initiatives from concept development through deployment and sustainment, ensuring continuity of operations and minimal disruption to DOE mission activities
- Evaluate and integrate emerging network technologies and engineering frameworks, including digital engineering practices, to advance DOE network capabilities and mission systems modernization
Compliance, Risk & Documentation
- Conduct network-level risk assessments, identify architectural vulnerabilities, and develop mitigation strategies
- Maintain comprehensive network architecture documentation including design specifications, configuration baselines, system security plans (SSPs), and audit artifacts to support continuous monitoring and compliance reporting
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
- Communicate complex architectural concepts, design decisions, and risk findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical DOE stakeholders and senior government officials
Requirements
- Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 12 years with High School Diploma., * Must be a US Citizen

- Deep expertise in routing and switching protocols, WAN design, data center and virtualization architectures, DNS, and proxy technologies
- Demonstrated experience architecting enterprise network solutions in support of large-scale modernization, automation, and digital transformation efforts
- Working knowledge of Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) principles
- Experience conducting network assessments, gap analyses, and cross-domain integration planning in distributed enterprise environments
- Strong technical documentation skills with the ability to produce architecture diagrams, design specifications, SSPs, and transition plans, * Cisco CCNP/CCIE (Enterprise or Data Center), Juniper JNCIP/JNCIE, or equivalent advanced networking certification
- CISSP, CASP+, or equivalent cybersecurity architecture certification
- Experience supporting network architecture programs at DOE facilities
