Job description

Imagine what you could do here. At Apple, new ideas have a way of becoming great products, services, and customer experiences very quickly. The AIML Privacy and Regulatory Compliance (PaRC) team leads privacy and regulatory compliance across AIML, partnering closely with Privacy Engineering, Privacy Legal, Competition Legal, Government Affairs, and various regulatory groups. This team shapes the direction of software features, models, and platforms across the company - balancing the tradeoffs involved in building successful products that meet Apple's high customer expectations for both quality and privacy. PaRC leads readiness efforts across AIML to meet new regulatory and compliance requirements, while integrating those requirements into infrastructure and processes to ensure ongoing compliance. The team also builds and champions the tools, monitoring programs, and practices that strengthen AIML's overall privacy narrative.

You will drive the development of data mappings, logs analysis, and data flow diagrams that serve as the foundation of AIML's data strategy, usage and governance efforts. You will serve as the authoritative source for data governance, with a deep understanding of what data AIML products and services store on device, what data is sent to Apple servers by them, how data is used, how data access is managed, and for how long data is retained. As a subject matter expert in AIML's privacy and data practices, you will work closely with the Privacy Engineering team while providing privacy pre-consultations and pushing privacy-enhancing designs forward in early development work. You will also work closely with the Compliance & Policies team to create and / or update data usage policies and guidelines, including codifying AIML data practices

  • collection, usage, governance, and retention - into internal policies, helping ensure new features meet requirements from day one, and in advocating for new policies and guidelines as new engineering designs require privacy considerations.
