AI Software Engineer Lead

AlphaLife Sciences is seeking an AI Engineer Leader to drive AI innovation for new projects in clinical workflows. You will lead a small team of AI engineers, provide technical guidance, and help turn cutting-edge AI/LLM technologies into practical solutions that accelerate processes, extract insights, and support clinical innovation.

We're looking for a hands-on, proactive technologist who is passionate about AI, curious about new technologies, and capable of mentoring junior engineers in a fast-paced startup environment. Responsibilities

• Lead a small team of AI engineers and guide their development on project tasks.
• Design, develop, and prototype AI/LLM solutions for real-world clinical workflows.
• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and cross-functional teams to implement innovative AI solutions.
• Mentor junior engineers and support skill development and productivity.
• Stay up to date with cutting-edge AI/ML research and apply relevant advances to projects.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or a related field.
• 3-7 years of experience in AI/ML or software development with AI/LLM projects.
• Strong programming skills in Python, Java, C/C+, or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience with generative AI, LLM frameworks, or other modern AI/ML technologies.
• Proactive, curious, and able to work in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Experience mentoring or guiding junior engineers.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice-to-have

• Experience in clinical workflows, clinical trials, or life sciences applications.
• Data analysis, cloud development, or distributed systems experience.
• Experience deploying AI solutions in production.
