Job description
We are seeking a Platform Engineer to design, build, and maintain scalable platforms that enable reliable, secure, and automated infrastructure and application deployments. This role focuses on developing internal platforms and tooling using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automation frameworks, and custom scripting to empower development and operations teams to deliver software efficiently and consistently. As a Platform Engineer, you will directly shape how infrastructure and applications are built, deployed, and operated across the organization-reducing operational toil while improving consistency, security, and developer productivity.
The ideal candidate has strong experience with cloud-native platforms, automation-first design principles, and a passion for building reusable, self-service infrastructure and deployment capabilities. Candidates with an application development background and who wish to crossover into a DevOps or Platform Engineering role are also encouraged to apply.
What you'll be doing:

- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
- Create automation tools and workflows using Python and shell scripting (Bash)
- Build reusable modules, templates, and libraries to standardize infrastructure and deployment patterns
- Develop CI/CD platform integrations to enable secure and repeatable deployments
- Partner with application teams to onboard workloads onto platform capabilities
- Implement guardrails, validations, and policy-as-code to ensure security and compliance
- Maintain platform reliability through monitoring, logging, and proactive improvements
- Document platform architecture, usage patterns, and best practices
- Continuously optimize platform performance, scalability, and developer experience
- Oversee and participate in platform release efforts, including change requests, test management, testing, documentation and end-user training
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 3-6 years of experience in DevOps or related roles
- Experience with deploying cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred)
- Proficiency in Python
- Shell scripting experience (Bash or Powershell)
- Experience using or building CI/CD systems and deployment automation
- Understanding of cloud networking, IAM, and security fundamentals
- Familiarity with Linux-based environments and system internals
- Demonstrated ability to build parameterized applications and reusable code
- Proficient in unit, system and integration testing concepts
- Strong understanding of the Agile Methodology
- Ability to run NodeJS, Python, Java and PHP applications locally
Nice to have:
- AWS Practitioner Certification is highly preferred
- Azure Fundamental Certification is highly preferred
- Experience with container platforms (Docker, Kubernetes, ECS, EKS)
- Knowledge of configuration management or policy tools
- Experience with secrets management and secure credential handling
- Familiarity with platform governance, compliance controls, or enterprise environments
- Experience supporting internal developer platforms (IDPs) or self-service tooling
