Job description
This position is part of Norstella Content Operations team, and is focused on cross-functional business initiatives (technology, product, services, commercial etc.) that drive the strategic direction of Norstella through our Content. The Specialist, Life Science & AI Data Strategy will use their domain knowledge of pharmaceutical industry data and applied AI approaches to deliver transformational projects., * Contribute to the development, training and delivery of novel AI solutions within Norstella's Content Operations team
- Act as an SME that can define and assess acceptance criteria for AI models deployed to both curate and analyse life science data
- Work cross functionally with Data Science, Content, and Product teams to translate business cases into deliverable projects with measurable impact
- Establish best practices for responsible AI deployment within content workflows, including evaluation frameworks, human-in-the-loop validation, and bias/quality monitoring
- Stay current on rapidly evolving AI/LLM capabilities and proactively identify opportunities to apply new techniques to Norstella's data challenges
- Conduct and communicate high-level research insights and data-driven recommendations to internal and external stakeholders, ensuring clarity, relevance, and accuracy
- Proactively identify process gaps, lead optimization initiatives, and ensure all work adheres to ethical data handling and best practices in compliance
- Champion the adoption of AI tools and modern data practices across Content Operations, including change management and upskilling initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biomedical Sciences, Computational Biology, Bioinformatics; advanced degree in a life-science context desirable
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working directly with life science data, pharma industry intelligence, clinical trials data, or biopharma research and consulting
- Strong understanding of the drug development lifecycle, clinical trial processes, and how life science data is published, captured, and processed
- Demonstrated experience contributing to development and training of LLM-based solutions in life science context (e.g., RAG systems, fine-tuning, prompt engineering, classification/extraction pipelines, agentic workflows)
- Proven experience thriving in a fast-paced development environment working with cross-functional teams
- Proficiency in querying and analysing with SQL and Python (or equivalents) preferred
- Impeccable written and verbal communication skills in English
- Proficiency in collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Monday.com, LucidChart, and Microsoft Office suite

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $90,000 to $105,000. It is not typical for offers to be made at or near the top of the range. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to base salary and a competitive benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
