Secret Sr. Systems Engineer - Team Lead

The Army PPB BOS program is seeking a Lead System Engineer to provide technical leadership in managing a group of system administrators and operation support engineers. Tasks include: managing cloud system operation in development, testing, government test and government production environments, as well as integrating new systems into the AWS cloud infrastructure and managing end to end project lifecycle. The role will be pivotal in interacting with Government stakeholders, leading system operations and integration efforts, and ensuring successful project completion on time and within scope. The work location will be primarily remote, but a weekly visit to customer site (Pentagon) is required.

The candidate must possess extensive experience in Linux systems engineering, software engineering, and cloud systems administration; Proven experience using Amazon AWS or Microsoft Azure within DoD; Experience in overseeing cloud environments ensuring each environment is properly configured, error and security alert monitoring is in place, costs are being controlled appropriately, DevSecOps processes are promoted and being utilized by the team, and DoD prescribed security is adhered to., * 10+ Years IT experience with system engineering, system administration and operations (Linux preferred)

• Strong desire to lead a technical team while remaining actively engaged in hands-on engineering and administration work.

• Extensive experience managing and implementing cloud services (AWS preferred)

• Experience in managing projects - creating project plans, providing levels of effort, executing and tracking project progress, conducting customer reviews, and coordinating with program management

• Experience managing and delegating tasks with team members

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or other related fields from an accredited college

• Current CompTIA Security+ CE certification

• Active Secret clearance Preferred Qualifications:

• Possess at least one certification from major DoD approved cloud service providers (Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, etc.)

• Experience in managing system administration and project planning

• Experience working in Agile environments and managing software and infrastructure using DevSecOps processes

• Experience with DoD cybersecurity framework and best practices - RMF, STIGs, POA&M

• Experience with Government or Defense contracts

• Experience with common release tracking software (JIRA, Confluence)

• Knowledge of Financial systems or processes
