3 month contract w/ possible extensions - Must be onsite - Salt Lake City, Utah - June '26 start We are seeking an IT Generalist with a focus on Cisco Switching and Aruba Wireless networks who manages, maintains, and troubleshoots our organization's hybrid network infrastructure.
This hybrid role balances server, endpoint, and user support with the administration of multi-vendor routing, switching, and wireless environments.
Core Responsibilities
- Network Administration: Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot core routing, switching, and wireless access points across Cisco and Aruba platforms.
- Security & Access Control: Administer network access control policies (e.g., using Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) or Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager) to maintain zero-trust security and device compliance.
- General IT Support: Resolve Tier 1 and Tier 2 end-user hardware, software, and peripheral issues.
- System Monitoring: Monitor network performance, conduct root-cause analysis, and deploy AI-aided observability tools to proactively prevent downtime.
- Cloud & Infrastructure: Manage VPNs, support cloud integrations (Azure/AWS), and maintain Active Directory or directory services alongside physical IT hardware.
- Documentation & Vendor Management: Produce standard operating procedures (SOPs) and collaborate directly with vendors or managed service providers for escalated hardware failures
Requirements
- Experience: 2-5 years of progressive experience in network administration or as an enterprise IT generalist.
- Vendor Proficiency: Hands-on experience navigating Cisco Catalyst/Meraki and Aruba Central/ProCurve dashboards and command-line interfaces (CLI).
- Certifications: Preferred vendor credentials often include Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Aruba Certified Mobility Associate (ACMA), or CompTIA Network+ / Security+.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving capabilities, cross-functional teamwork, and the ability to clearly translate complex technical issues for non-technical stakeholders
