Job description

Evolver is seeking a Automation Developer (Power BI Focused) to support a Federal client in Springfield, VA. This role is focused on developing and enhancing Power BI dashboards, reporting solutions, workflow automation, and data integrations that support cybersecurity governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience building interactive dashboards, developing automated reporting processes, working with data from multiple enterprise systems, and supporting cybersecurity compliance initiatives. This role combines elements of Power BI development, data engineering, reporting automation, and ServiceNow support within a fast-paced federal cybersecurity environment.

The selected candidate will work closely with cybersecurity teams, engineers, analysts, and government stakeholders to improve reporting visibility, automate manual processes, and develop scalable reporting solutions supporting FISMA and RMF operations., * Develop, maintain, and enhance interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Power BI to support cybersecurity operations, compliance tracking, and executive reporting.

  • Build and maintain Power BI datasets, data models, Power Query transformations, and DAX calculations.
  • Develop automated reporting workflows and data processes to improve reporting accuracy, consistency, and operational efficiency.
  • Create and optimize SQL queries to support reporting, analytics, and data validation activities.
  • Integrate and transform data from multiple enterprise systems including ServiceNow, SharePoint, Oracle, Excel, Splunk, and other cybersecurity data sources.
  • Support the development of cybersecurity metrics, KPIs, and compliance dashboards related to FISMA inventory management and RMF activities.
  • Develop scheduled reports, automated data refreshes, and recurring reporting solutions for technical teams and leadership.
  • Assist with development and enhancement of ServiceNow workflows, reporting capabilities, and inventory management processes.
  • Develop and maintain basic scripts and automation solutions using Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or similar scripting languages.
  • Support automation of Inventory Change Request (ICR) processing and reporting workflows.
  • Troubleshoot reporting, dashboard, and data integration issues and implement solutions to improve performance and reliability.
  • Work with stakeholders to gather business and technical requirements and translate them into reporting and automation solutions.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline manual processes and improve reporting architecture and dashboard usability.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams and federal stakeholders in a dynamic environment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with 1+ year of related experience, or 4+ years of overall professional experience in a relevant field.
  • Active Secret clearance required.
  • 1 year of experience developing dashboards, reports, or visualizations using Power BI, Tableau, Excel, or similar reporting tools.
  • 1 year of experience working with data analytics, reporting, or business intelligence solutions.
  • 1 year of experience using SQL for querying and analyzing data.
  • 1 year of experience working with data from multiple sources and systems.
  • 1 year of experience with scripting or automation using tools such as Python, PowerShell, JavaScript, or Bash.
  • 1 year of experience with ServiceNow, ITSM platforms, or ticketing/workflow systems.
  • 1 year of experience with Power Query, DAX, and data modeling concepts.
  • 1 year of experience with FISMA, NIST RMF, or cybersecurity governance concepts.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building enterprise Power BI dashboards and executive reporting solutions.

  • Experience supporting cybersecurity, compliance, or risk management reporting initiatives.

  • Experience with ServiceNow reporting, workflow automation, or platform customization.

  • Familiarity with Splunk, Tableau, Elastic Stack, or other analytics platforms.

  • Experience using Python or PowerShell for automation, scripting, or data manipulation.

  • Familiarity with REST/SOAP APIs and data integrations.

  • Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts, compliance processes, or federal IT environments.

  • DHS HQ or Component-level experience preferred.

  • Ability to communicate technical information clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Relevant certifications are preferred, including:

  • Microsoft Certified: Power BI Data Analyst Associate

  • Security+

  • ServiceNow Certified System Administrator (CSA)

  • Tableau Desktop Specialist

  • Splunk Core Certified Power User

  • CGRC, CAP, or other cybersecurity/compliance certifications.
