Job description
The Active Directory Infrastructure Operations (ADIO) team is seeking a highly skilled Active Directory (AD) Subject Matter Expert (SME) to install and maintain a large-scale corporate AD backup and restore environment. This role requires deep expertise in AD authentication services and infrastructure, with a focus on backup and restoral functionality. The ideal candidate will be responsible for installing Hyper-V, clustering, Cohesity and Quest Recovery Manager for Active Directory (RMAD) applications. This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite., * Install and maintain a large-scale corporate Active Directory backup and restore environment
- Install Hyper-V, clustering, Cohesity, and RMAD applications
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to AD infrastructure
- Manage and create backup and restoral infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth implementation
- Work weeknights and weekends as needed
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting Active Directory authentication services in large-scale enterprise environments
- Working knowledge of Quest Recovery Manager for Active Directory
- Working knowledge of Cohesity Data Protect and Helios (on-prem)
- Engineer level experience with data protection technologies
- Deep understanding of Active Directory infrastructure
- Strong documentation skills (design, procedural, requirements, etc)
- Hands-on experience with PowerShell to automate administrative tasks and resolve complex issues
- Deep understanding of Windows Server 2019/2022 (GUI and Core)
- Understanding of immutable storage
- Working knowledge of core network components (subnetting, networking, VLANs, etc)
- Top-tier critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in a service-oriented team environment and articulate to a wide audience through written and verbal communications
- Virtualization (with Hyper-V) and virtualized Domain Controllers
- Proficiency in AD troubleshooting tools such as DCDiag, Netdiag, Repadmin, and DFRSdiag
- Experience with AD Domain Name System (ADDNS), Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP), and Distributed File System (DFS)
- Knowledge of enterprise storage, network infrastructure, and virtualization technologies (SCVMM/Hyper-V, VMware)
- Strong understanding of security best practices, including Kerberos authentication, NTLM, AD Federation Services (ADFS), and multi-factor authentication (MFA)
- Familiarity with ITIL processes, including incident, change, and problem management
Desired skills:
- Experience building and supporting enterprise server platforms
- Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) experience
- Familiarity with Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
- Exposure to backup or data protection platforms (e.g., Cohesity or similar tools)
- Familiarity with cyber recovery or disaster recovery concepts
- Introductory experience with PowerShell or scripted administration
