Data Analytics Engineer

Insight Global is seeking a Data Analytics Engineer for a top professional sports and sports technology client. This candidate will serve as a core analytics consultant supporting elite athlete performance and operational decision-making. The role focuses on migrating and optimizing Tableau dashboards built on AWS Redshift while taking full ownership of a specialized athlete management platform. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly curious, and eager to become a subject matter expert in a niche sports-tech ecosystem-playing a direct role in shaping data-driven insights for coaches, sport scientists, and elite athletes. This is a contract until end of year that pays $40-$50/hr.

• 2-4 years of hands-on experience building advanced Tableau dashboards

• 2-4 years of strong, advanced SQL experience

• Strong data analysis, statistics, and problem-solving skills

• Ability to translate business and performance needs into technical data solutions

• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences

• High learnability and willingness to master Teamworks AMS * Prior experience in sports analytics or sports technology environments

• Experience working with cloud data warehouses (AWS Redshift highly preferred)

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field

• Exposure to athlete performance data (e.g., Hawk-Eye, GPS, wearable data)

• Experience migrating or optimizing data pipelines and BI environments

• Background working directly with coaches, performance analysts, or athlete operations teams

• Experience acting as an internal analytics consultant or product owner
