Supervise and guide the on-shift operation of the Bulk Electric System during normal and emergency conditions. Perform day-ahead reliability analysis and load forecasting. Provide leadership and direction to the System Operators to ensure the system is operated in a safe, reliable, and efficient manner. Follow procedures to ensure PSE&G maintains compliance with FERC, NERC, PJM and RFC Mandatory Standards. Analyze disturbances on the Bulk Electric System to determine proper corrective action and determine if NERC, DOE, RFC, and PJM reporting is required. The consequence of non-compliance with a NERC Reliability Standard is NERC fines of up to $1 Million per day. Maintain and apply knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls, integrity and corporate policies. Evaluate and prepare performance partnerships for Transmission System Operators, Senior Transmission System Operators and Transmission System Planners. Demonstrated ability to motivate, instruct, lead, train and assist associates and customers. - Train, coach and guide ESOC personnel. Evaluate and prepare performance partnerships for Transmission System Operators, Senior Transmission System Operators and Transmission System Planners., As an employee of PSEG, you should be aware that during emergency restoration efforts, you may be required to perform functions outside of your routine duties and on a schedule that may be different from normal operations. Requirements
Leadership Management Electricity Forecasting Transmission Decisiveness Communication Risk Management Operating Systems Behavioral Health Motivational Skills Reliability Analysis Permanent Resident Cards Transmission System Operator, * High School diploma or equivalent
- 1 year as a Senior System Operator
- 3 years of experience and extensive knowledge working with operating a power system
- 5 years of experience in Transmission, Generation, Distribution Operations, System Relay Protection and/or Station Mechanical Skills
- PJM and NERC certifications
- Ability to communicate effectively; exercise independent action, judgment and risk management; act decisively; and interact effectively with all Transmission System stakeholders
- Technical knowledge of Electric Power Systems
Desired
- B.S. in Engineering or Technology
- 5 years of experience and extensive knowledge working with operating a power system
- 7 years of experience in Transmission, Generation, Distribution Operations, System Relay Protection and/or Station Mechanical Skills
- Advanced knowledge of Electric Power Systems
