Job description
The Network and AV Cabling Support Specialist installs, maintains, and troubleshoots network and audiovisual cabling systems. They ensure optimal performance of cabling infrastructure, support network connectivity, and handle AV setups. This role requires a strong knowledge of PC/Network communications hardware/software in a multi-protocol environment, and the use of network management software. Responsibilities include cable management, performance monitoring, hardware/software troubleshooting, and collaboration with IT teams to support connectivity needs. MUST HAVE A SECRET CLEARANCE, + Monitor and respond to hardware and software issues in technical control facilities.

Install, maintain, and troubleshoot network and AV cabling infrastructure.

Support network connectivity and audiovisual setup across operational environments.

Use hardware and software testing tools to diagnose and resolve connectivity issues.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in cabling and connectivity support.

Collaborate with IT and contractor support teams for escalation and problem resolution.

Document cable layouts, configurations, and changes for network records.

Assist with installation of network terminals and associated equipment.

Provide support for network servers as required.
Requirements

Experience: Minimum of 5 years in network or cabling support roles

Education: Bachelor's degree OR Technical School/associate's degree with an additional 2 years of experience

Certifications (Required):

IAT II certification (Must meet DoD 8750 and 8140 compliance requirements)

CompTIA Network+ CE
