Job description
This role is responsible for designing, governing, and evolving the enterprise data architecture to support business strategy, analytics, and operational needs. This role serves as a technical authority and strategic advisor, defining data models, integration patterns, and architecture standards while ensuring alignment with data governance, security, and regulatory requirements. This position partners closely with engineering, analytics, business, and governance teams to ensure data solutions are scalable, reliable, and fit for purpose., * Develop and own the OPI data architecture strategy and roadmap.
- Define and enforce organization-wide data architecture principles, frameworks, and standards.
- Oversee the design of data platforms supporting advanced analytics, AI/ML, and cloud adoption.
- Collaborate with data governance and stewardship teams to ensure architectures support data ownership, quality, lineage, and metadata management.
- Evaluate and select data technologies and platforms for strategic initiatives, recommending architecture approaches that balance innovation and risk.
- Lead large-scale data integration, modernization, and migration projects.
- Ensure data architecture aligns with enterprise architecture and business strategy.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data architects, engineers, and analysts.
- Partner with executives and business leaders to shape data-driven transformation initiatives.
- Review and approve data-related solution designs, providing architectural oversight and recommendations.
- Partner with analytics, AI/ML, and reporting teams to ensure data architectures enable advanced insights and performance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Stored procedures?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, * Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems science, or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or information systems science, or equivalent experience.
- Ten (10) years of comprehensive data warehouse analysis and design experience, with full knowledge of data warehouse methodologies (cloud, Lakehouse, streaming), data modeling and ETL/ELT processes.
- Ten (10) years of experience with SQL programming objects, including stored procedures, user-defined functions, and common table expressions.
- Ten (10) years of experience with data management tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Hadoop, etc.).
- Demonstrated experience designing enterprise=scale data architecture in complex environments

Required Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
- Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) preferred.
- TOGAF or similar enterprise architecture certification preferred.
- Cloud platform certifications (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP data architecture) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Ability to develop cloud-based data solutions using Azure Databricks.
- Working knowledge of general business, quality/regulatory requirements, and/or manufacturing systems is preferred.
- Strong understanding of data governance, metadata, data quality, lineage, and stewardship concepts.
- Knowledge of data security, privacy, and regulatory considerations as they relate to architecture.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable data designs.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills.
