Job description
Within COO Technology we are seeking a DevSecOps Lead Software Engineer whose role is essential for executing strategic vision and driving concrete results. The COO DevSecOps team's unique value lies in integrating security into automation and delivery, orchestrating cross-team workflows, and ensuring that modern infrastructure and deployment practices are both efficient and secure. The DevSecOps team collaborates with Enterprise Infrastructure Management to optimize compute resources, partners with Cyber Security to enforce security policies and leverage threat intelligence and works with the Chief Development Office to refine deployment tools and frameworks-while operationalizing and integrating these capabilities into the delivery lifecycle. This role will implement secure & scalable CI/CD processes and procedures, contribute to cloud infrastructure decisions, and work with the Site Reliability Engineering team to embed reliability and observability across platforms. Their influence on tooling, automation, and resilience engineering will accelerate modernization and ensure robust, secure, and efficient delivery pipelines for COO Technology.
In this role, you will:

Lead complex technology initiatives including those that are companywide with broad impact

Act as a key participant in developing standards and companywide best practices for engineering complex and large scale technology solutions for technology engineering disciplines

Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs

Review and analyze complex, large-scale technology solutions for tactical and strategic business objectives, enterprise technological environment, and technical challenges that require in-depth evaluation of multiple factors, including intangibles or unprecedented technical factors

Make decisions in developing standard and companywide best practices for engineering and technology solutions requiring understanding of industry best practices and new technologies, influencing and leading technology team to meet deliverables and drive new initiatives

Collaborate and consult with key technical experts, senior technology team, and external industry groups to resolve complex technical issues and achieve goals

Lead projects, teams, or serve as a peer mentor

Provide direction and expertise to leadership on implementing innovative and significant automation and Agentic AI to enhance business solutions

Maintain knowledge of industry best practices and new technologies and recommend innovations that enhance operations or provide a competitive advantage to the organization

Strategically engage with all levels of professionals and managers across the enterprise and serve as an expert technical advisor to leadership

Ensure adherence to the Banking Platform Architecture, and meeting non-functional requirements with each release

Partner with, engage and influence architects and experienced engineers to incorporate Wells Fargo Technology technical strategies, while understanding next generation domain architecture and enable application migration paths to target architecture, for example cloud readiness, application modernization, data strategy

Function as the technical representative for the DevSecOps function during cross-team collaborative efforts and planning

Identify and recommend opportunities for driving escalated resolution of technology roadblocks including code, build and deployment while also managing overall software development cycle and security standards

Determine appropriate strategies and actions to act as an escalation partner for scrum masters and the teams to meet moderate to high-risk deliverables and help remove impediments, obstacles, and friction while encouraging constant learning, experimentation, and continual improvement

Interpret, develop and ensure security, stability, and scalability within functions of technology with high complexity, as well as identify, manage and mitigate technology and enterprise risk

Collaborate with, partner with and influence Product Managers/Product Owners to drive user satisfaction, influence technology requirements and priorities in the product roadmap, promote innovative and intelligent solutions, generate corporate value and articulate technical strategy while being a solid advocate of agile and DevOps practices

Interact directly with third party vendors and technology service providers, Employees support our focus on building strong customer relationships balanced with a strong risk mitigating and compliance-driven culture which firmly establishes those disciplines as critical to the success of our customers and company. They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable Wells Fargo policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit's risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:

5+ years in Technology & Architecture Expertise: strategic technology planning with strong hands-on experience in Java, Angular, .NET, SQL Server, and Big Data

3+ years in performance tuning, optimization, and data security/design.

3+ years Cloud, Data & Analytics: working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and analyzing/interpreting large datasets to drive insights and scalability.

5+ years in DevOps, Automation & Delivery: scripting and automation
-
3+ years with DevOps tools (Git, deployment toolkits), Agile methodologies, and CI/CD pipelines and Harness
