Job description
Cegeka is looking for a Senior Linux / Open Systems Engineer with strong expertise in container platforms and DevSecOps environments to support projects within the Flemish Government framework contract. You will work on technically challenging Linux and container-based environments, delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions while collaborating closely with clients and engineering teams. This role combines deep technical expertise, customer interaction, and knowledge sharing within a modern Open Systems ecosystem., * Implement, configure, and maintain Linux/Open Systems environments
- Work with container platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift
- Support Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization environments
- Apply DevSecOps principles and CNCF tooling in enterprise environments
- Automate infrastructure and deployment processes using tools such as Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, and GitHub
- Provide technical support throughout the full lifecycle (installation, configuration, upgrades, maintenance)
- Collaborate with clients and internal engineering teams to deliver reliable solutions
- Contribute to technical documentation, knowledge sharing, and mentoring colleagues
- Proactively identify opportunities for optimization and continuous improvement
Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of experience as a System Engineer in an Open Systems environment
- Strong expertise with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Extensive hands-on experience with Kubernetes and OpenShift
- Experience with Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization
- Solid knowledge of DevSecOps principles and CNCF tooling
- Practical experience with Ansible, Jenkins, Terraform, GitHub, and related automation tools
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within teams
- Bachelor's or Master's degree
- Fluent in Dutch and English
- Willingness to work on-site in Brussels 1-2 days per week

Additional Details
- Full-time assignment
- Hybrid working model (1-2 days on-site in Brussels near North Station)
