Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience building and operating large-scale data systems. 3+ years of professional software/data engineering experience, ideally across backend systems, distributed data platforms, or cloud-native architectures. 2-4 years of hands-on experience building and maintaining production-grade data pipelines (not just ad hoc scripts or notebooks).

CHALLENGE

Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure Design Demonstrated ability to design, implement, and operate scalable, secure, and highly available cloud architectures. Experience building multi-tier architectures with proper networking, security segmentation, and high availability design. Strong understanding of distributed systems principles, load balancing, autoscaling, and disaster recovery strategies. Experience performing capacity planning, cost optimization, and cloud architecture reviews. Experience defining infrastructure standards, governance controls, and cloud best practices across teams. Cloud Platform Engineering (AWS-Focused Example) Strong experience designing and managing infrastructure on AWS. Deep understanding of networking concepts including VPC design, subnets, route tables, NAT gateways, security groups, and IAM policies. Hands-on experience with core AWS services: Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, Amazon RDS, Amazon DynamoDB, Amazon VPC Experience implementing compute and container platforms: Amazon ECS, Amazon EKS, AWS Lambda Experience with application exposure and networking services: Elastic Load Balancer (ELB/ALB/NLB), Amazon API Gateway, Amazon Route 53 Monitoring, logging, and observability: AWS CloudWatch, AWS CloudTrail, AWS Config Infrastructure as Code & Automation Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or AWS CDK or AWS CloudFormation. Strong scripting skills using Python or Bash for automation. Experience building CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or AWS CodePipeline. Experience automating deployments and environment provisioning. Security & Compliance Strong understanding of IAM roles, policies, and least privilege principles. Experience implementing encryption (at rest and in transit), key management (AWS KMS), and secrets management. Experience configuring WAF, security groups, NACLs, and security monitoring controls. Understanding of cloud security best practices and compliance frameworks. Reliability & Operations Experience implementing high availability and disaster recovery strategies. Experience managing backups, replication, and failover mechanisms. Strong troubleshooting skills across networking, compute, and storage layers. Experience supporting production environments with defined SLAs and incident response processes.
