Management Information Systems & Data Lead

The Role
ICS is seeking an experienced and dynamic School Management Information Systems and Data Lead to oversee the successful implementation and management of various IT systems, including but not limited to MIS, Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), Room Booking System, Parents' Evening Booking System, iSAMS, Managebac, CPOMS, Success Factors, Sphera, etc. The ideal candidate will be responsible for effective management, integration, and strategic development of the school's educational information systems.
You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure they have the correct information to produce a timetable, student's options, number of teaching sets required based on the number of students, etc. while managing day-to-day systems, infrastructure, and support functions with with all stakeholders, including students, parents, staff, teachers, and leaders, maintaining confidentiality, demonstrating cultural sensitivity, and fostering successful relationships with the regional team.
Key Responsibilities
Task and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Systems Management & Integration
· Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and optimal performance of the school's core systems, including:
· Management Information System (MIS)
· Virtual Learning Environment (VLE)
· Room Booking System
· Parents' Evening Booking System
· Ensure seamless integration and synchronisation between all systems.
· Act as the primary liaison with external system providers and support services.
Data Management & Integrity
· Manage and maintain accurate student, staff, and curriculum data across all platforms.
· Create and update teaching sets within the MIS and VLE.
· Ensure data consistency across integrated systems.
· Support compliance with data reporting requirements.
Timetabling, Scheduling & Curriculum Support
· Produce the school timetable in line with curriculum requirements set by the Senior Leadership Team (SLT).
· Produce Daily Cover Schedule in response to staff absence needs
· Analyse student option choices and staffing needs to determine teaching group structures.
· Implement and maintain the timetable within the MIS.
Reporting & Analytics
· Produce statutory and internal reports, including:
· Annual statistics for Spanish educational authorities (in collaboration with IT, HR, and Operations)
· Data for NAE report cards (academic performance and staffing)
· Maintain and develop Power BI dashboards for ICS and NAE reporting.
· Provide data insights to support strategic decision-making.
Assessment Systems Management
· Coordinate and manage external assessment platforms, including:
· MAP testing
· CEM assessments
· Ensure accurate rostering and data handling for all assessments.
User Support & Training
· Provide support and guidance to teaching and administrative staff in the effective use of school systems.
· Deliver training where required to improve system adoption and efficiency.
· Troubleshoot system issues and escalate when necessary.
Educational Platform Administration
· Manage user accounts and system access (e.g., CPOMS and other educational platforms).
· Responsible for the implementation and operational maintenance of educational platforms.
· Continuously review systems to improve efficiency, usability, and alignment with school needs.
Additional Responsibilities
· Contribute to whole-school digital strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
· Ensure systems support safeguarding, academic tracking, and operational efficiency.
· Undertake other duties as reasonably required by the school.
Candidate Profile
- Degree in a relevant field (e.g. Education, Data, Information Systems or similar).
- Experience working with school management information systems (MIS), learning platforms, or similar data-driven environments.
- Strong data management and analytical skills, with the ability to produce clear reports and insights.
- Experience or understanding of school timetabling and curriculum organisation.
- Good knowledge of reporting and data visualisation tools (e.g. Power BI).
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to support and train staff effectively.
- Listening Skills
- Up to date understanding of relevant technologies
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, integrity and confidentiality when handling sensitive data.
- Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable to the task at hand
- Calm working under pressure
- Fluency in Spanish and English.
