Job description

Are you an experienced PMO Lead looking for that next challenge? Do you have experience of working in an IT function and come from Retail, FMCG or the Finance sector? This role will give a driven and experienced individual the opportunity to lead and oversee the PMO to help ensure the successful delivery of the projects and programmes across the entire Technology function. Wickes are a forward-thinking and innovative business that are in their digital and Technology growth phase and this role will be an essential part of that transformation. Wickes applies both waterfall and agile methodologies to deliver projects. Therefore experience working across both and the ability to understand how to track the value streams of delivery will be essential in this role. The role will need the ability to help Wickes develop a simple but effective way of monitoring and governing its technical changes programmes, catering to different needs without adding undue complexity. Experience in being able to establish processes to support delivery leads independent of methodology. What you'll be doing: Establish and maintain PMO best practices, methodologies, and standards across the IT organization to ensure consistent programme delivery and governance Lead the tracking and monitoring of strategic programs across multiple product groups, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives Develop and maintain comprehensive programme reporting frameworks to effectively communicate key delivery metrics, risks, and status to stakeholders Provide strategic guidance to senior management on project progress, budget utilization, resource estimates, team performance, and financial forecasts Partner with product managers to ensure programme objectives align with business strategy and desired outcomes Conduct post-implementation reviews and benefits realization audits to measure programme success and capture learnings Design and implement standardised processes for resource planning, risk management, and issue resolution Facilitate strategic planning sessions and portfolio prioritization discussions with stakeholders

Requirements

Do you have experience in Waterfall?, You'll be a confident, self-starter with strong knowledge and understanding of business IT needs, with the ability to establish and maintain a high level of customer trust and confidence. You'll be able to work at pace, with a sense of urgency and be able to commit to high standards of ethics, regulatory compliance, customer service and business integrity. You'll work in a small team and balance strategic change, running weekly governance mechanics and delving into detail for issue resolution. You'll demonstrate sound judgement in the decision making process and have strong understanding of scope of contracts, including milestones and recognition of changes skills. Experience with Atlassian toolset (specifically Jira/Confluence) would be beneficial
