24/7/365 shift rotation, including night shifts, in line with an agreed rota Hybrid working model: typically 3 days per week on-site near Exeter East Night shifts are worked remotely Candidates must live within reasonable commuting distance of Exeter office. Candidate should at least be Security Cleared Eligible - lived in the UK for the last 5 years Role Summary The Cloud Engineer (Associate) provides real-time monitoring, triage, and operational support for a High Performance Computing (HPC) environment. The role focuses on identifying trends, responding to anomalies, and supporting secure, reliable Azure-based services while maintaining strong customer engagement. Key Responsibilities Monitor Grafana dashboards, identifying trends and responding to anomalies in real time Triage and manage Incidents and Service Requests in line with operational processes Perform Azure IAM management and investigations using Log Analytics and KQL Monitor and report on security events using Azure Sentinel Support infrastructure and configuration management activities, including Terraform Maintain Technical Service Guides and operational documentation Work as part of a strong technical team, supporting customer relationships and escalating concerns through the appropriate channels
Requirements
Do you have experience in Terraform?, Must be eligible for, or have active, SC AZ-104 (Microsoft Azure Administrator) certification - required Hands-on experience operating within Microsoft Azure environments Understanding of DevOps principles, preferably including Terraform Strong attention to detail with an inquisitive, analytical mindset Strong written and verbal communication skills in a customer-facing environment Willingness to ask questions, seek clarity, and build and share technical understanding Desirable Skills AZ-500, SC-300, Terraform / DevOps, ITIL 4 Foundation certification Understanding of DevOps pipelines and infrastructure-as-code practices
