Job description
We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to design, build, and support systems within the BSS/OSS domain. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business and technical requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions, lead technical design activities where required, and contribute to engineering best practices. What will you be doing day-to-day?
- Design and develop scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
- Lead technical design of components, APIs, and integrations.
- Develop and maintain Java-based applications and RESTful APIs.
- Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD activities.
- Support containerised and cloud-based deployments, including Kubernetes and AWS.
- Contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Provide accurate technical estimates and progress updates.
- Assist with configuration management, penetration testing, and security remediation.
- Produce and maintain technical documentation.
- Share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Research and support adoption of emerging technologies and engineering practices.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Test automation?, * Strong commercial experience with Java (Java 8 or above).
- Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
- Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
- Strong SQL and relational database experience.
- Experience with version control systems, ideally Git.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Cucumber, or Selenium.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience working in Agile environments.
- Experience using Jira or similar work management tools.
- Experience with AWS or other public cloud platforms.
- Experience with containerisation technologies and Kubernetes.
- Understanding of secure software development and information security principles.
