Lead Software Engineer - GammaLabs

We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer to design, build, and support systems within the BSS/OSS domain. You will contribute across the full software development lifecycle, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business and technical requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions, lead technical design activities where required, and contribute to engineering best practices. What will you be doing day-to-day?

• Design and develop scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.
• Lead technical design of components, APIs, and integrations.
• Develop and maintain Java-based applications and RESTful APIs.
• Participate in code reviews, automated testing, and CI/CD activities.
• Support containerised and cloud-based deployments, including Kubernetes and AWS.
• Contribute to Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Provide accurate technical estimates and progress updates.
• Assist with configuration management, penetration testing, and security remediation.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.
• Share knowledge and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Research and support adoption of emerging technologies and engineering practices.

Do you have experience in Test automation?, * Strong commercial experience with Java (Java 8 or above).

• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
• Experience designing and developing RESTful APIs.
• Strong SQL and relational database experience.
• Experience with version control systems, ideally Git.
• Experience with automated testing frameworks such as JUnit, Cucumber, or Selenium.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Experience working in Agile environments.
• Experience using Jira or similar work management tools.
• Experience with AWS or other public cloud platforms.
• Experience with containerisation technologies and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of secure software development and information security principles.
