Job description
This resource will support a Police Records Management System (RMS) migration effort by designing, recreating, modifying, and delivering SSRS reports, forms, and reporting outputs within a new reporting environment. Responsibilities include developing complex SQL queries, validating report accuracy, replicating legacy reporting functionality from existing examples and business requirements, and ensuring reports meet operational and formatting standards. The consultant will work closely with City IT staff, Police Department users, and subject matter experts to gather requirements, troubleshoot issues, and deliver production-ready reporting solutions along with supporting documentation and knowledge transfer materials. The role will require onsite and hybrid collaboration while adhering to CJIS and City security requirements.
Requirements
7+ years of hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
Strong SQL development and query writing experience
Experience developing, modifying, and deploying SSRS reports, forms, and report outputs
Experience working with relational databases, reporting databases, and/or data warehouse structures
Ability to build reports using parameters, grouping, expressions, formatting, and export functionality
Experience recreating reports from screenshots, PDFs, legacy reports, standards documentation, or business requirements
Ability to troubleshoot report accuracy, formatting, and data integrity issues
Experience producing complete deliverables including supporting SQL, technical documentation, and handoff materials
Strong communication skills with both technical teams and business stakeholders
Ability to quickly understand new reporting environments and underlying data structures Police Records Management System (RMS) experience
