Job description
- This is not a generalist ecommerce manager role - you won't manage inventory, vendors, or fulfillment
- This is not a brand or visual identity role - our Junior Designer handles brand-level visual work
What You'll Do
- Own the A/B test roadmap end-to-end: hypothesis, design, build, ship, measure, document
- Design and build PDP, cart, checkout, collection, bundle, and landing page variants
- Pull insights from GA4, Microsoft Clarity, Hotjar, purchase data, and support tickets to form testable hypotheses
- Restructure collection pages, navigation, and search to surface best sellers and reposition slow-moving SKUs
- Build bundle pages and cross-sell/upsell flows based on purchase data
- Optimize our B2B wholesale flow (application form, gated pricing, B2B PDP variants)
- Build landing pages for paid media campaigns that match ad creative and persona
- Maintain a competitive swipe file of winning DTC and B2B brands and reverse-engineer their PDPs, checkouts, and bundle logic
- Run tests to statistical significance, quantify revenue impact, document wins and losses, and report results weekly
- Coordinate with a dev contractor for custom Liquid or JS work when section builders can't deliver, You'll report to our Director of Data & Systems, who runs the program and keeps execution on track. The CEO owns the test roadmap approval. Our Junior Designer can support visual polish (banners, hero imagery), but you own page flow, layout, and conversion logic.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Technical Proficiency?, * 3+ years CRO or growth design experience at a DTC ecommerce brand (Shopify required)
- Demonstrated A/B test program experience - has run tests to statistical significance, understands sample size and MDE, knows how to isolate variables and avoid confounding factors, can prioritize a backlog using ICE, PIE, or equivalent frameworks
- Strong portfolio of PDP, checkout, and landing page work with measurable conversion lifts
- Fluency in GA4, Microsoft Clarity or Hotjar, and purchase data interpretation
- Hands-on experience with Shopify section builders - Replo, Shogun, GemPages, PageFly, or Zipify Pages
- Figma fluency for mocks and handoffs
- Understanding of how site work affects ad funnels, paid media performance, customer personas, and AOV
- Experience optimizing for both DTC consumer flows and B2B wholesale flows (or strong B2B-adjacent experience)
- Self-directed operator who can prioritize competing requests without constant direction
Strong Plus
- HTML, CSS, Liquid, or basic JavaScript - ability to ship custom work without dev dependency
- Bundle building, cross-sell, upsell, and merchandising logic experience
- Restricted-category DTC experience (CBD, hemp, cannabis, supplements, alcohol, adult, age-gated)
- Klaviyo email design crossover
- Experience with A/B testing platforms: Intelligems, Convert.com, VWO, Optimizely, or Shopify-native testing
- Fluency using AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Shopify Magic, Replo AI) to accelerate hypothesis generation, copy variants, code, and analysis - we expect modern operators to use AI as a productivity multiplier, not avoid it
Disqualifiers
- No Shopify experience
- No demonstrated A/B test program experience (you've only designed, never tested to significance)
- No fluency in GA4 or session recording tools (Clarity, Hotjar)
- Design portfolio entirely SaaS, B2B platform, or non-ecommerce - we need proven ecommerce conversion work
- Agency-only background with no in-house DTC operating experience (we need an operator, not an architect who hands off to others)
- Cannot work synchronously with overlap on US Eastern time, We expect a lot, and we reward exceptional people who deliver. The following are commonly claimed but rarely demonstrated - bring proof, not self-description:
- Organized. You manage your own backlog, calendar, and reporting without prompting.
- Tech-savvy. You learn new tools fast and don't wait for documentation to figure things out.
- Problem-solver. When a test result is unclear or a build won't work in a section builder, you find a path forward.
- Self-starter who takes pride in the work. You push to improve outcomes beyond the brief because you care about results.
- Hard-working. This is a high-output role on a small team. We move fast and ship a lot.

About the company
We're a vertically integrated DTC ecommerce company in the hemp-derived cannabis category, operating multiple Shopify brands out of our Canton, NC facility. We're scaling paid media spend across Meta, AppLovin, and adjacent platforms, and the site is currently the bottleneck on revenue. We've built out our data and analytics infrastructure (GA4, Clarity, Hotjar, purchase data dashboards) and need a CRO designer who can turn that data into prioritized tests and shipped variants. This role exists because we're scaling paid media faster than the site is converting it - we need a dedicated operator to close that gap.
