Job description

The IT/ICT/Building Security Systems Designer will deliver consulting and design services for IT infrastructure, structured cabling, and security systems - primarily supporting major renovations and some new construction in airports and transportation facilities. This role manages multiple projects while ensuring quality, accuracy, and efficiency., * Design IT infrastructure (telecom rooms, cabling, DAS, data centers, OSP)

  • Develop building security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion, emergency systems)
  • Produce construction drawings, specs, and cost analyses (AutoCAD, Revit, BlueBeam)
  • Collaborate with MEP/architectural teams and guide client technology decisions
  • Review submittals, coordinate with project stakeholders, and conduct site walk-throughs
  • Ensure projects meet timelines, budgets, and NV5 quality standards
  • Stay current on emerging technologies and industry standards

Requirements

  • 5+ years of telecom/IT/security design experience (ideally renovations)
  • Strong knowledge of IT infrastructure and systems architecture
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, BlueBeam, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to travel to job sites as needed - Aviation/transportation project experience
  • BICSI (RCDD or similar), ASIS, PE, or other certifications
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
  • Experience with network systems design, tech master planning, or business development
