Job description

This technician will be supporting current team at Northrop Grumman from a MAC (move, add, change) and new build perspective. The majority of the infrastructure has/is moving to VOIP and this resource could help with some of that transition, but overall will be supporting the emergency and classified hardlines which will remain copper. They will be responding to trouble tickets on a daily basis and supporting the MAC team on other initiatives during down time. If they have any fiber knowledge that is a bonus, but mainly copper work and willing to train up on the fiber. This is set for a long term contract but they have strong history of bringing people on perm. Guaranteed 6 months and based on candidate feedback, it can be extended. This position will be at various Northrop Grumman sites here in Linthicum and potentially additional sites in the DMV market. (95% will be at the main campus) This resource should be able to respond to trouble tickets on disconnects, new lines on POTS, Dmarc/comm room experience, identifying copper circuits, client circuits, providers (Verizon), etc. Need to have old school telephony experience for POTS lines, troubleshooting/testing via butt sets, tone generators, multi meters, probes, etc. Should be comfortable dealing with VOIP install, emergency service lines, elevator lines, Verizon telephony lines. This individual will be cross training with Dave on the POTS lines, phone systems, telephony, and when there is down time they will be assisting with MAC work and structured cabling., Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI): We may use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to support parts of our hiring process, including sourcing, screening, and evaluating candidates.
