Job description
The Panther Group is seeking experienced Embedded Software Engineers for long-term contract opportunities supporting advanced defense technology programs in Grand Prairie, TX. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge real-time embedded systems and Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation environments with a leading aerospace and defense organization.
We are looking for engineers with strong C/C++ development experience, hands-on embedded systems expertise, and active Secret clearance eligibility. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain real-time embedded software applications
- Support Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) simulation and integration activities
- Develop embedded software solutions using C/C++ in Linux and real-time operating environments
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support system integration and testing
- Participate in full software development lifecycle activities including requirements analysis, coding, debugging, testing, and documentation
- Support simulation systems and embedded hardware interfaces
- Utilize modern development and configuration management tools including Git, GitLab, and JIRA
- Participate in Agile/Scrum development processes
Requirements
- Active Secret Clearance required
- Bachelorâs degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
- Minimum 4+ years of embedded software engineering experience
- Strong proficiency with C/C++ (C++11 or newer preferred)
- Experience working in Linux and real-time operating system environments
- Hands-on Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) experience
- Experience supporting real-time embedded systems and simulation systems
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Grand Prairie, TX
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Ada programming language
- Full software development lifecycle experience
- Experience working within cross-functional engineering teams
- Familiarity with Git, GitLab, and JIRA
- Agile/Scrum development experience
- Aerospace or defense industry experience preferred
