Job description

This role positions data as a strategic asset in support of the company's goals and objectives. The Data Integration Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and implementing enterprise-level business intelligence solutions, data integration processes, and analytical applications. This includes documenting data sources, integrating disparate systems, and supporting the advancement of data governance initiatives through the company's data governance platform. The engineer must drive projects to completion within established scope while adapting to evolving business intelligence requirements in a dynamic environment., The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience as an integration developer working with cloud data platforms (e.g., Microsoft Fabric), scripting languages, and the Microsoft Power Platform - including building prototypes, dashboards, integration solutions, data governance components, and applications and workflows., * Designs, develops, and maintains data engineering solutions on Microsoft Fabric, including data pipelines, notebooks, and dataflows. Builds secure, performant, and scalable processes with appropriate scheduling, monitoring, and error handling.

  • Supports and enhances existing data warehouse extract, load, and transform (ELT) processes using SSIS, PowerShell, and SQL scripts. Manages job scheduling using cloud-native schedulers and Windows/SQL Server Agent.
  • Delivers integration solutions using API services, including publishing, and consuming APIs.
  • Develops front-end applications, workflows, and dashboards using the Microsoft Power Platform suite, including Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse.
  • Leverages AI tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude for code generation and developer productivity. Designs, secures, publishes, and monitors agents using Microsoft Copilot Studio.
  • Provides technical stewardship in support of data governance initiatives, including defining and mapping business terms to technical catalog items, establishing data quality rules, and ensuring data integrity across all integration processes. Develops error handling and recovery procedures to maintain reliability.
  • Works on a wide range of projects, interfacing with development teams, business analysts, IT management and members of the business units with minimal supervision.
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize data integration needs.
  • Provide, present, and promote the Citizens Experience to all external and internal customers.
  • Complies with, and stays abreast of, all policies and procedures, federal and state laws applicable to the job.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc.) from four-year College or university in Computer Sciences, Information Systems, or other related field; 3 - 5 years of experience using Data Integration architecture and tools, PowerShell, API management, SQL Server and Reporting Services SSRS, data warehouse, ETL and BI technologies, and advanced query and SQL skills.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

This position requires strong communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals, as well as the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions. Requires the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical literature, and government regulations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Strong analytical skills with the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

COMPUTER & SOFTWARE SKILLS

  • 2+ years of experience and knowledge of working with cloud-based IT infrastructure and platforms, specifically Microsoft Fabric and Microsoft Azure Power Platform (Power Bi, Power Automate (Flow), and Power Apps)
  • Proficient in data integration architecture and design, using APIs, and Power Platform.
  • 2+ years of experience using M365 CoPilot, CoPilot Studio, and Power BI CoPilot
  • Proficient in creating solutions using AI Agentic architecture, AI Models, MCP Servers
  • 2 - 5 years' experience and knowledge of Data Modeling for Business Intelligence and Data Visualization.
  • 3 years' experience in developing ETL solutions using SSIS and other SQL Server tools
  • 2+ years of experience in MS Excel, Pivot Tables, charts, graphs, dashboards, Power Pivot, Power view, and Power Map.
  • 1+ year(s) of experience and knowledge of data governance principles and platform for data definition, data quality rule creation and monitoring.
  • Knowledge of programming language such as Python, VB/C# .net, JavaScript, and PowerShell

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS, * Experience in data integration through APIs, Programming languages, and integration platforms.

  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Understanding of best practices for common ETL design techniques such as change data capture, key generation, and optimization.
  • Deep understanding of relational and dimensional database domains.
  • Knowledge of master data management, metadata management, information lifecycle design, and development.
  • Motivated self-started, detail and quality oriented and ability to handle multiple competing priorities.
  • Must be a strong team player with a positive attitude and enthusiasm to get things done.
  • Ability to present to various levels of the organization, including executive management.
  • Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills., While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to talk or hear. The associate is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; and use hands and fingers to handle or feel. The associate is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The associate is regularly required to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, calculator and telephone and reach with hands and arms. The associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to ten (10) pounds.
