Job description
A client in Spring, TX is looking for a Cloud Platform Standards Engineer to design, author, and operationalize Enterprise Architecture (EA) cloud standards through reference ('golden') architectures and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC). This person will be defining enterprise standards, producing architecture diagrams, and translating them into reusable Terraform/Bicep modules and automated pipelines. This person will be collaborating closely with Application Architecture and Infrastructure teams to ensure solutions are designed and implemented in alignment with enterprise standards and approved golden architectures. They will be hands-on engineering where standards are only complete when documented, diagrammed, and implemented as reusable code. In addition, they will be building landing zones (management groups, subscriptions, RBAC, policy, logging) and implementing hub-and-spoke networking, private endpoints, and security patterns. They will also define application placement and subscription strategies. Lastly, they will be enforcing tagging and cost governance using policy-as-code. This position is looking to pay between $90-100/hr.
Requirements
3-7+ years Terraform/Bicep experience (module development).
Strong Azure architecture and landing zone experience.
Networking knowledge (hub-spoke, private endpoints).
CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps).
Governance, tagging strategy, policy enforcement.
Ability to create architecture diagrams and documentation.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
CMMC/NIST 800-171 experience
Policy-as-code (Azure Policy, OPA, Sentinel)
Ansible experience
Azure Landing Zones (CAF)
Kubernetes (AKS)
