The Bureau of Infrastructure Support is seeking a Cloud Platform professional! A successful candidate has the skills to ensure smooth & secure deployment whether its workload is hosted in a legacy data center, a modern cloud container, or a SaaS application!
All employees are expected to live and work in Wisconsin. This position will have the option of working remotely upon agreement of the supervisor but may be asked to come into the office periodically. This schedule may change based on operational needs and organizational requirements.

Working at DOA offers you the opportunity to make an impact on the quality of life in Wisconsin., Under general supervision, the Cloud Platform Specialist is a hands-on builder and automation expert responsible for designing, implementing, and operating a cohesive hybrid environment that spans the State's on-premises data centers, public cloud infrastructure, and enterprise SaaS portfolio. This role moves beyond traditional system administration to treat the entire technology stack as code, creating a unified operational model where regardless of location all resources are provisioned, managed, and secured through automation., Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct fingerprinting and background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas and is not an eligible OPT (Optional Practical Training) employer for F-1 international students. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.
Requirements
Minimally qualified applicants will have the following:
- Experience designing, implementing, and operating systems in an enterprise-scale hybrid environment with both an on-premises data center and public cloud presence (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP).
- Experience with DevSecOps building and maintaining automated security controls within modern CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps, GitLab, Jenkins). Experience should include integrating and managing automated testing tools (SAST, DAST, SCA, container scanning)
- Experience with designing, building, and managing enterprise hybrid-cloud platform using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to ensure consistency, versioning, and reproducibility.
- Strong scripting and coding skills with fluency in at least one language (e.g. Python, PowerShell).
Benefits & conditions
Starting salary for the IS Enterprise Technical Services Specialist (07-33) be between $35.19 - $52.00 hourly. Salary will be determined by applicant qualifications. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.
