Job description
The Automation Software Systems Engineer will be responsible for the performance and continuous improvement of the software ecosystem that powers the High Bay Warehouse. This will include LEGO's COMBI platform and its integrations with SAP, the AL system, and the vendor hardware software. Will analyze warehouse workflows, optimize layout and material flow, and drive data-informed improvements across inventory, throughput, and process performance., * Design and refine warehouse layouts and slotting strategies in support of throughput and capacity goals.
- Use data analysis and BI tools for reporting and KPI tracking.
- Document system configurations, integration points, change history, and maintenance procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, maintenance, hardware engineering, IT, vendors) to resolve issues and deploy improvements.
- Partner with software vendors to troubleshoot, enhance, and upgrade systems.
- Maintain solid understanding of warehouse automation equipment and mobile robotics (AGVs and AMRs).
- Guarantee that safety, quality, and regulatory standards are met in all software-related activities.
- Ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System (IMS), including safety and quality standards., You will monitor, manage, and improve state-of-the-art automated warehouse systems, gaining exposure to advanced systems and technology. Learn the management of an automated warehouse, the operation of new equipment and systems, and contribute directly to LEGO's mission of inspiring and developing the builders of tomorrow. You will work directly with logistics and maintenance staff, as well as leadership and engineering to ensure the success of our state of the art manufacturing facility.
Requirements
Do you have experience in Workplace safety?, Do you have a Bachelor's degree?, Do you have the determination to excel?
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional experience in warehouse automation.
- Hands on experience working in warehouse, manufacturing, or distribution center environments.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and WMS/WES systems.
- SAP experience and expert-level proficiency in MS Excel.
- General understanding of PLCs and how software interacts with control systems.
Preferred
- Experience with Lean/Six Sigma methodologies.
- Business Analytics (Power BI or equivalent) experience.
- Software engineering background or scripting experience (e.g., SQL, Python)., * Occasional off-shift or weekend work required to support production needs or system maintenance.
- Ability to travel globally.

4.14.1 out of 5 stars Richmond, VA 23224 Hybrid work $84,674 - $127,010 a year, The salary for this position has a range of $84,674.00 - $127,010.00 based on anticipated responsibilities, market benchmarks, and organizational constraints. The LEGO Group carefully considers a wide range of compensation factors, including but not limited to prior experience, skills, expertise, location, internal equity, and other considerations permitted by law. The comprehensive remuneration details, inclusive of benefits, will be communicated upon finalisation of the employment offer.
