Job description
Peraton Labs seeks a Senior Data Scientist to support research and development of AI/ML methodologies related to space object behavior. In this role, you will be a part of a team to employ statistics, analytics, artificial intelligence and machine learning to provide analysis in support of space research efforts.
What you'll do: Curate and develop a solid data foundation in coordination with the client - structured and unstructured data
- Process modeling data and perform robust analytics.
- Use online experimentation and other data science methodologies by leveraging Machine Learning (ML), natural language processing, and dynamic network analysis
- Exercise creativity in applying non-traditional approaches to large-scale analysis of both structured and unstructured data in support of high-value use cases visualized through multi-dimensional interfaces.
Requirements
- Minimum of 12 years of experience with BS/BA; OR minimum of 10 years with MS/MA; OR minimum of 7 years with Ph.D. Four (4) years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- Demonstrated AI/ML experience with unstructured data, computer vision with ability to perform data analysis and apply visualization techniques.
- Capable of building Python scripts and packages that will be used by the data analysts. The Python scripts will use supervised and unsupervised ML (both text and image-based machine learning), natural language processing (named entity extraction, summarization, etc.), and network analysis (social network analysis, centrality analysis, dynamic network analysis).
- Requires strong technical and computational skills - engineering, physics, mathematics, coupled with the ability to code design, develop, and deploy sophisticated applications using advanced unstructured and semi-structured data analysis techniques and utilizing high-performance computing environments.
- Has the ability to utilize advance tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict and make discoveries in complex data and deliver recommendations for business and analytic decisions.

- Active Top Secret Clearance with ability to obtain TS/SCI
Desired Qualifications:
- Prior experience working with DevSecOps processes and tools
- Experience with artificial intelligence tools and technologies
- Experience with deploying software into cloud environments, particularly AWS
- Ability to anticipate problems and take decisive action and an ability to find innovative ways to solve problems
