Oncology Data Specialist

This position will be responsible for abstraction and data entry of all cancer patients in accordance with established standards, policies, and regulations related to cancer surveillance and hospital cancer programs. Maintains aspects of the Oncology Data Registry (Cancer Registry) according to state law and accrediting agencies. The position will actively participate in the compliance requirements to maintain the hospital cancer program., * Maintain compliance with training directives required by the organization pertaining to Information Security, Acceptable Use Policy and HIPAA Privacy and Security.

• Adhere to and comply with the organization's Acceptable Use Policy.
• Safeguard information system assets by identifying and reporting potential and actual security events to the organizations Security and Compliance Officers.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

• Oncology Data Specialist (ODS), formerly Certified Tumor Registrars, (CTR) certification.
• Clinical Data Abstraction experience.
